    Responsibilities

    Summary of position:

    Coordinate program development and setup of operational systems of all school-based services in all three regions (Orange, San Diego and Riverside Counties). Oversee program initiatives to support high-quality services, developing a broad set of relevant quality measures in conjunction with the Specialty Services Clinical Directors. Act as liaison between the school agencies and VCC. Responsible for the development and administration of licensing, school agreements and ensuring that staff deliver high-quality patient care and an exceptional patient experience.

    • Coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of school-based specialty services programs (optometry, behavioral health and dental/medical care integration objectives)
    • Work with specialty services program team to establish performance standards for work assignments and for monitoring work status and progress (including goals and objectives)
    • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, protocols, procedures and associated staff training to enable staff to provide accurate, appropriate and consistent services and information to patients
    • Establish protocols to ensure patients are linked to appropriate community resources for health and health-related services consistent with regulatory, contractual and corporate requirements
    • Assist in identifying areas of opportunity for growth and development in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan
    • Assist with the collection and review of data to determine the effectiveness of programs and services, identify trends and make appropriate recommendations
    • Provide direction and oversight in the coordination of all school-based specialty services programs
    • Partner with internal and external entities to maintain compliance with regulatory licensing and audits
    • Meet regularly with COO to review and discuss strategies for program development, quality improvement and cost reduction
    • Foster effective communication and team building across the organization with respect to school-based services programs to enhance employee, provider and patient satisfaction
    • Collaborate with the Grants team to identify program funding gaps and opportunities for support through grant funding
    • Develop partnerships with external agencies to maximize opportunities for collaborative activities that will strengthen VCC’s programs
    • Attend community meetings in order to network and establish community relationships as well as educate and promote VCC’s programs

    Qualifications

    Minimum

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience
    • Four years’ related experience
    • Valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance; reliable transportation, to travel for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes

    Preferred

    • Bilingual English/Spanish

    Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

    • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required
    • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, providers and other staff
    • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner
    • Ability to work with people of all social and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs
    • Ability to track and manage time and budgets effectively
    • Ability to plan and facilitate internal and community meetings
    • Ability and willingness to meet the organization’s attendance and dress code policies
    • Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
    • Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
    • Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities
    • Familiar with operation of telephone, fax and copier equipment
