Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting in the collection, analysis and reporting of health care information obtained from a variety of clinical sources.

  • Develop and prepare of reports for departments across the organizationUtilize reporting to scrub internal data electronically
  • Work to develop and understand data requirements and report specification
  • Conduct data collection, tracking and trending of all facets of clinical data, including but not limited to quality assurance/quality improvement, HEDIS, UDS, etc.
  • Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing customer requests
  • Prepare statistical reports, narrative reports, or graphic presentations of data to provide useful information and commentary for internal purposes, reporting and external stakeholders as requestedIn collaboration with customers and IT, develop and maintain reporting tools, including dashboards, and databases
  • Evaluate data quality, applications and functions for efficiency and accuracy
  • Develop analytics related to the health plan data
  • Point out system or process problems when noticed; engage the customer and the appropriate teams in problem solvingAttend regular staff meetings to increase understanding of programs, services and areas of interest for performance improvement
  • Develop and maintain effective systems to ensure achievement of health outcome measures and coordination of efforts:
    • Collect and analyze data on all health care plan, P4P and incentive measures;
    • Provide a monthly health outcomes report for leadership
    • Create a monthly dashboard for each provider on all chronic disease care measures, P4P and Health Care Plan measures, and individual provider performance status·
  • Review data sets and reports for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulatory reporting needs·
  • Prepare scheduled reports and ensure they are successfully sent and received by customers as requested·
  • Manage population management systems (i2i), or other system

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum three years’ experience working within a healthcare setting in an data analyst role with electronic medical record processes
  • Minimum of one year’s experience programming
  • Valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance; reliable transportation, to travel for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in healthcare informatics
  • Experience in clinical processes
  • Experience with NextGen, SPSS, SQL and reporting services
  • Web design experience

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and data structures
  • Working knowledge of facility medical protocols, policies, procedures, regulatory standards and guidelinesKnowledgeable about data requirements of grants and contracts
  • Ability to develop necessary data collection systems and prepare reports as required for submission to funders
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, providers and other staff
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner
  • Ability to work with people of all social and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs
  • Ability and willingness to meet the organization’s attendance and dress code policies
  • Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
  • Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities
  • Familiar with operation of telephone, fax and copier equipment
